We had a meeting with Gemma to discuss our progress.
What she liked:
- Layout of the images throughout the book as it showed individuality and showed off the images themselves
- The breaker spreads with the business cards as it showed the branding side of the course well
- Colour works well
- cover and breaker design
Problems raised
- Business card breakers, if some breakers have business cards that are too low, page not filled enough
- Students who haven't submitted yet, how to fill the 6 extra spreads
- Quotes
- Order of the students
Problems Solved
- In the likely case that the 6 students don't provide us with work and information we have decided to include showcase pages that will come just after the breaker spread that introduces a new category. This takes up 4 spreads
- To solve the business card idea, I am going to produce one spread that contains the business cards on them that will go just after the contents page as an overall introduction to the students and their work
- We went through our printed off version with Gemma and she re ordered the students within the categories
Since then I have re ordered the students on our document, re page numbered, we also replaced the non existent students with appropriate breakers and showcase pages with their images on them.
STILL TO DO:
- get rid of Susan's name on her quote page as she isn't there any more
- Receive blurb from Gemma and add into book
- Add page numbers next to student names on contents page
- Change breaker names on spreads so they are correct
- Finish acknowledgments page
